About

Endurawood was founded by Ed Mays in 1994 to create an Oregon resource for sustainable wood products. We were one of the first businesses in the country to adopt the Forest Stewardship Council's (FSC®) group chain-of-custody certification (FSC certified wood products must be harvested from forests that meet strict standards of sustainability, ecological diversity, and socioeconomic responsibility).

We are committed to environmental and social equity as we aim to bolster both local community and regional economies as a member of a new breed of "Triple Bottom Line" company, and intend to maintain our efforts in making Oregon an international leader in the emerging high value, sustainable wood products industry.

In our 22 years of operations, we have served over 2,500 customers, including homeowners, contractors, developers, architectural firms and interior design professionals with specialization in custom hospitality/commercial tabletops, bar tops, mantles, desktops, and custom furniture made with FSC certified, reclaimed, or NW regional hardwoods.

Our extensive portfolio of clients includes the University of Oregon, Wieden + Kennedy, the Heathman Hotel, McMenamin’s, Wolfgang Puck, Urban Farmer, Rejuvenation, Les Schwab Headquarters, Providence Hospital and many others. Our residential projects have been featured in the City of Portland’s “Build It Green” Home Tour, as well as the “Street of Dreams.”
